HoneyWheat began long before the first grazing table was styled or the first celebration was catered. It began with a name, a family, and a whole lot of love.

My mother named me Melissa, a name derived from the Greek word for honey bee. Growing up, my dad would often tell me that I had the most beautiful hair color, reminding him of a golden field of wheat.

 

My mother gave me the honey. My dad gave me the wheat. And together, they gave me the inspiration for HoneyWheat.

 

Growing up in a large family, some of my most treasured memories were made in my grandparents' kitchen. With nearly thirty of us gathered together, the kitchen was always full of laughter, conversation, and the wonderful smells of home-cooked food.

The women in my family cooked together, sharing recipes, stories, and traditions that made every gathering special. My grandmother was the heart of it all, and she had one simple rule: nobody left her house without eating.

Family, friends, and even complete strangers were welcomed with open arms. No matter how many people gathered, there was always room for one more at the table.

 

Looking back, I realize those moments shaped my love for hospitality. The joy of preparing good food, watching people gather, and making someone feel cared for is what inspired me to create HoneyWheat.

 

Today, that same spirit lives in everything we do. From intimate gatherings to weddings and grand celebrations, we bring together beautiful food, thoughtful details, and the warmth of genuine Southern hospitality.

Because at HoneyWheat, it's about more than what we serve.

 

It's about how we make people feel. And just like in my grandmother's kitchen, there's always room for one more at the table.
